Dog training is a must for every breed of dog, it can start at any age and will enrich your dog’s life. Most people enjoy working with their dogs so much that they carry on learning and practicing for as long as they can. You can train your dog yourself, but joining a dog training class is more effective and much more fun.
Premier Dog Training is run by qualified dog trainer Sean Pickering and offers a whole range of dog training classes. There’s something for everyone from brand new puppies right through to seniors. Wayward dogs are catered for too. If they’re not ready to mix safely with other dogs, they will benefit immensely from 1-2-1 training sessions.
Let’s take a look at the group classes available from Premier dog training
Puppy training
New puppies have a lot to learn about the world and how to live happily with their new family. Puppy training classes allow youngsters to learn alongside other pups. They also allow you meet and learn with other puppy owners.
In a puppy training class we look at more than just basic commands. It’s about good manners, (with dogs and people), confidence, focus and fun. Lots and lots of fun.
Everything we do at Premier Dog Training is reward based and force free. That means that puppies are treated with patience, kindness and respect at all times.

Adult Dog Training Classes
You CAN teach an old dog new tricks. The most senior dog I have trained so far was a 10 year old Jack Russell with a very bad habit of pulling on the lead. It didn’t take her long to realise that walking nicely earned her tasty treats!
Adult dog training classes are for any dog over 12 months old. It’s a natural follow-on from Puppy and Junior classes but that doesn’t exclude anybody who is new to dog training.
These classes are especially useful for all of those amazing owners who have adopted rescue dogs. It’s a great way to get to bond with your new pet.
Mixed ability classes mean that we cover a great deal of subjects in class during the 6 week course. The classes are dynamic, stimulating and interesting for dogs and owners. We look at manners and obedience, building on the dog’s knowledge and using their individual personality traits to make training more fun.
Adult dog training classes are small groups of like-minded people all with different training goals. You will have plenty of individual attention as well as benefitting from mixing with other dogs and owners in a safe, friendly environment.

Dog Agility Classes
Once your dog has mastered basic obedience he’ll be looking for a bigger challenge. The mental stimulation offered by dog agility classes is second to nothing when it comes to burning off your dog’s excess energy. The inevitable result of an agility class is a calm dog and some peace and quiet for its owner.
Agility is good fun for humans too. If you want to compete in agility competitions with your dog, we can show you how. If you just want to come along and enjoy the classes, that’s OK too.
We even run junior handler agility courses so the whole family can get involved.

If you can’t make it to regular class sessions
Dog training is important and coming along to classes has a lot of benefits. However, regular classes don’t fit in with everybody’s schedule. And some dogs are just not ready to work with all the distractions of other dogs and people.
Premier dog training has two alternatives to dog training classes.
1-2-1 training where the dog, his owner and the trainer work closely together to meet their dog training goals, tackling any problems as they arise.
Residential training: A popular option where, dog owners hand their dog over to Sean for a few days intensive training. This works well in conjunction with our dog boarding service. So while you are away from home, your dog is effectively at boarding school (or university) preparing to show off his new skills when you get back.
